Why A Car Guarantee Is Essential

By Vivian Summers

Deciding to buy a new car is a very big decision especially since, next to a home, it is probably one of your major investments. Purchasing a vehicle is no doubt a very large investment. There are many new cars in the market today, that are competing for your money with appealing new and better models. However, one important thing that you have to take a close look at is the warranty.

When you're making the choice of which car to get, it's important to make sure that you check out the warranties included with the car and it's also important to compare them from car to car. You might be under the impression that all car warranties are the same, but this isn't true. There would be some who will be willing to cover the non-wear features of the car either up to three years or 36,000 miles, or whichever comes first. Then there are others that'll cover repairs up to ten years or 100,000 miles. It is important to find the details of the warranty, since it will help you make a choice whether or not to seek extended warranty or not. The first step is being able to understand the parts of a warranty, as well as the difference between a new car and extended warranties.

The new car warranty, generally, has two parts The "Bumper to bumper" covers everything that are not "wear" features of the car, like the brakes and tires and the power train covers all parts that allow the car to move like the engine and transmission. Therefore, it's important to compare warranties of any new car that your purchase.

Make sure you read the warranty very carefully to find out what is covered and what is not, because there are not many extended warranties which cover everything that could go wrong with the car. Remember your past cars and the repair and maintenance that you expect during the years if the contract outlines that it covers everything except a few select items.

There are some extended warranties, however, which covers parts that are most likely to break as well as parts that will wear out. However, as stated above, you should read thoroughly the contract and have an understanding of how they can affect the final purchase cost of the car. It's important to make comparisons and contrast before finally deciding when it comes to warranties. Take a close look at the contract to see what and what is not covered under the warranty. By doing this, you can make the best possible decision regarding which car to purchase. It is essential that you take the time to do the needed research.
