A Clean And A Wax Are Critical To Automobiles

By Vivian Summers

A proper clean-up routine must be followed to keep your car's finish looking great. It does not matter whether your car is worth $100,000 or $1,000 or if it is an off-road car or a luxury showroom car they all need the proper care.

With the right products a car's interior can also benefit from it's exterior being properly taken care of.

The most critical step in this is to have the exterior cleaned extremely well. While hosing off at a car wash beats leaving your car covered in dirt, a proper cleaning usually requires more than water pressure. Many things that ruin your car's finish need to be removed and these are, bird droppings, salt and dirt.

Be sure to use a cleaner designed for automotive paint finishes and not household cleaners. Some people choose to just use dish-washing liquid which damages the finish by stripping the paint.

When washing start from the top and make your way down, do not forget to get the extra dirt which piles on at the bottom of your car. Do not start with a rough sponge, use a weaker one first to see how hard you will have to go. Do not damage the finish by pushing too hard on it. The proper liquids and detergents should be used to take off the correct dirt and grime.

So now that you have cleaned the entire outside of the car you must do the inside, it is just as important. Your comfort will increase when you travel in a clean car so throw out all rubbish inside the car. It's also important to wipe down surfaces with a product designed to provide protection from UV rays, which can dry out leather and cause plastic to crack.

An important part of the interior work is cleaning the windows, especially the windshield, with a glass cleaner. People get into accidents because of many different reasons, but one of the reasons is impaired vision and when you let grime build up on the inside of your windows your vision becomes impaired. Especially in the interior of smokers cars you will notice a thick film on the glass.

The next step in protecting your car after you have washed it is to polish it up. Either one will add gloss and help preserve the finish. Polish and wax in the shade to protect the car and only begin a new small area once you have completed the first small area. Do not let it dry completely as the paint will become damaged.

You can also brighten your tires with products designed to clean and protect wheels, and sprays that restore the black luster to your tires.

So you have thought all of the things that we just mentioned over and decided that you cannot do it because it is too hard, do not worry. Professional car washes and detailing services can perform all the work for you, usually at a fee you won't find too extravagant.
