The Infiniti M56 Outperforms Everyone In Its Class

By Jacqueline Star

The Infiniti M56 find itself in a very tough market; the luxury segment. The competition is intense and many auto makers have a vehicle in the full size luxury sedan segment. The Infiniti M56 is up against the best from BMW, Mercedes Benz, Audi and Lexus. The older generation M56 was formally known as the M45 and was not very popular. Again, this is one cramped niche and Infiniti did not do enough to set the M45 apart from the rest of the pack but this has all changed for the current model year.

In the past, the M56 was normally overshadowed by its little brother the G35 and G37. For 2010 the Infiniti M56 has a base price of $58k. The M56 has been revamped and now it has the fit and finish the Germans have been known for, and Infiniti has also manned up to produce a V8 engine worthy of its German rivals. With 420 horsepower on tap the M56 reaches the 60mph mark in a scant 4.7 seconds. For comparison last year's model took almost a full second longer to reach a 60 mph. The Infiniti M56 out accelerates all of it's competitors.

The older version was a rougher ride, but, Infiniti created a luxury car with the M56 even though the car was meant to handle. Nice and big twenty inch rims, firm springs, and double-piston shocks. If this sounds like the vehicle would ride rough, it does not. With the new M56 you get the chance to select 4 different driving modes to suit you. The Eco mode is there to conserve gas, The Snow mode is self explanatory, the standard mode is regular all around drive setting, and finally The Sport mode improves all power, throttle and gear shifting for a sporty and fun drive.

there's some cool stuff available when you choose to get the $3k technology package, like a lane departure prevention system, blind spot alert, and radar adaptive cruise control which when set keeps the same difference between you and the car in front. The $3800 touring package which adds luxury items such as an awesome Bose stereo system, luxurious wooden trim, and a cabin air system. The final optional package is the Big Daddy Sport Package. At $3600 this package comes with four wheel steering, a sporty suspension, summer tires, big 20" rims and a sporty looking steering wheel.

When it comes to performance, the M56 is certainly no slouch. The 400 hp V-8 can rocket the M56 zero to 60 4.7 seconds as before mentioned, and the quarter mile is eclipsed in 13.4 seconds, which is just a tiny bit off pace from the awesome Ford Mustang GT and the Camaro SS muscle car. All that muscle wrapped in a luxury vehicle.

The M56 trumps the Lexus GS460, Jaguar XF and Mercedes E550. It can out accelerate, out brake and out corner them all. The M56 is also the best on gas out of all of her competitors. It looks as if the M56 has become a serious contender in this tough market.
